Project Overview

The project included translating a rather voluminous document of 279 pages in detail from English to Russian. This extensive work included the translation of a variety of critical documents, such as:

Each document was meticulously translated to ensure accuracy and completeness in the Russian version. Considering the large size, we determined our translation capacity for this project will be 30 pages per day. This schedule allowed for thorough reviews and accuracy checks, ensuring the translated materials were high quality. The whole project was done in 10 days, it was in total sync with the delivery aspect as defined by the client. Although the word count of about 10,000 words per day was to be maintained, the work required a lot of consistency and concentration which reflected our professionalism.

Quotation and Competitive Edge

Pricing was another major consideration for this exercise despite great complexity and limited time; we charged 750 INR per page, which includes all the implied complexities.

Due to our properly organized work schedule, we were able to translate 30 pages per day, maintaining the highest quality of the translated text. Delivered within a short time of 10 days, deadlines were met without compromising on accuracy.

Challenges and Solutions

Absence of Open Files

This is one major issue that we had a lot of trouble with; lack of open files. The client submitted scanned PDFs where extraction of the text, as well as manipulation of translated text, was quite complicated. To handle this issue, we used enhanced OCR (Optical Character Recognition) technology. This technology enabled us to digitize the PDF images obtained from scanning which in return enabled the conversion of the text to the word editors for translation making the process faster and accurate.

Streamlined Workflow

Detailed processes were also adopted by our team concerning text extraction and translation into the desired languages. This efficiency was important because the project was time-sensitive and the project required a lot of work. In terms of effectiveness, we managed to streamline our work and keep every step of the translation process as close to perfection as possible.

Short Timeline

The project had to be wrapped up within the timeline of 10 days at the utmost. This indeed put a lot of pressure on the team and all the events had to be planned and executed within the right timeline and without any dilution. Through our team’s hard work and experience, we were able to address this tight deadline without sacrificing the quality of our translations.

Resource Issues

Due to the ongoing conflicts in Russia, there was a scarcity of translators which was a major issue in the continuous projects. Despite these challenges, we were still able to find four native-skilled and domain-expert translators along with the Quality Check Team and 5 Skilled Language DTP designers who worked intensively to meet the tight deadline. They played a crucial role in providing quality work throughout the translation of the documents in the agreed time frame.

Design Complexity

Every translated page also entailed numerous designing operations to retain the formatting of the source. We dealt with approximately 30 pages of design daily and applied strong designing tools and methods to maintain uniformity. Daily progress meetings were held to check whether translated content aligned with the source document layout and formatting to ensure quality.
